Why did my artist not post my tattoo ?

A tattoo artist's Instagram doubles as their portfolio. They use it to showcase the kind of work they do and would like to do more of. If they've done a lot of designs that are similar to your piece, they may choose to not post it in order to display different designs. There is also a good chance that during their photo session of your tattoo. All of the pictures the took, do not represent their work as they would like it presented

If the price quoted feels out of your budget, it's fine to discuss this with the artist. In fact most of the time it is preferred and in my booking info section you’ll find that I require it on my booking form. This helps most artist determine what they can do for you to suite your needs and give you a good tattoo that you are both comfortable with.

No, it's not rude to ask about the price of a tattoo
. In fact, it's a normal and expected part of the process for both the client and the artist. Asking about pricing shows that you're serious about getting the tattoo and allows you to budget

Do you charge by the hour or by the piece?

Both! It depends on if your tattoo needs/wants and if your tattoo will need to be done in sessions, or if it’s able to be done in one sitting. Session work is typically charged per hr. If done in one shot, it will be a flat rate
